 CURE Mannheim e.V. – 2025 Newsletter April

Spring has arrived, and so has a fresh update from CURE Mannheim! In this month's edition, we’re excited to share all the latest developments, including our progress with the lamination process, updates from our hardworking teams and a special focus on the Accumulator subteam.

Rollout Invitation

  • When? 05.06.2025 at 5 PM

  • Where? Auditorium DHBW Mannheim, Coblitzallee 1-9 68163 Mannheim

As is tradition, CURE Mannheim is hosting our exciting Rollout event for the new car, CM-25x! This year, we’ll be showcasing the car at the DHBW Mannheim Campus in the Auditorium, where we’ll dive into all the details and specifications. To RSVP, simply send an email to contact@curemannheim.de with the number of attendees. We can't wait to see you there!

Lamination Progress
Since our last update, we’ve dedicated many hours in the workshop. With our new molds for the aerodynamics package in hand, courtesy of our partner, we’ve begun the meticulous process of laminating. We’ve also reconditioned the old molds from last season to complete the front and rear wings of our aerodynamics package. By the time you read our next update, we’ll have finished laminating all the parts and will be assembling them with the other components of the car. The biggest challenge was the monocoque, where we completed the outer skin and aluminum honeycomb structure. After Easter, we’ll continue with the lamination of the inner skin, rounding off the monocoque’s construction.

Accumulator Subteam Progress
A major milestone in the past few weeks has been the assembly of the first segment of our new accumulator. This season, we’re introducing an innovative attachment technique — gluing instead of clamping. This will improve safety by preventing the cells from shifting. We’ve made significant preparations for the lamination of the container, crafted from aramid fibers, and in the coming months, we’ll complete the accumulator assembly and begin our first test runs.

Subteam Highlights
Our other subteams have been hard at work as well! The Electronics team received all of our self-designed PCBs, and the code was written during the productive weekend which was held last weekend. The Vehicle Dynamics team has been busy developing the recuperation concept and its necessary code, aiming to reduce accumulator requirements for the endurance event and make future accumulators even lighter. The Powertrain team has tested our motors on the test bench, while the radiator has been evaluated for efficiency. Almost all parts of the Suspension team are ready for final assembly, providing great support to other subteams.

Our organizational subteams have been active on many fronts — from attending events like “Einstieg Frankfurt” and the DHBW “Campus-Tag” to connect with prospective members, to producing the Businessplan video and preparing for our Rollout event. Additionally finalising the car’s livery, new teamwear, our updated website and internal resources. Meanwhile, the Finance team has kept a close eye on spending and orders to secure our liquidity. Across all areas, the entire team has been working tirelessly to keep everything moving forward.

Stay tuned for more updates and thank you for your continued support!

With gratitude,

The CURE Mannheim e.V. Team
