Our new Board

We would like to thank our former board members Kathrin Gonsior, Luisa Andrae and Roman Hill for their dedication to our association. Since October, our new board has taken office: Nils Starbaty serves as First Chairperson, focusing on long-term sustainability, while Jennifer Lück steps in as Second Chairperson to work closely with our alumni network. Alexander Sagorski takes on the role of CFO, overseeing financial management. The board is completed by Jakob Graf as Technical Project Lead and Tom Krippendorf as Organizational Project Lead.

Our Welcome Weekend for the new season

Since the start of the new season, we have welcomed many new members to our team and wanted to ensure that they have all the information and connections needed to begin their journey at CURE. We organized a welcome weekend to host workshops where the subteams introduced their work and shared key details about the racecar. In addition, we held several icebreaker games, allowing everyone to get to know each other. Over the course of the weekend, the bond between new and existing members grew stronger, with a fun round or two of Hoosierball bringing everyone together.

Building the monocoque

Over the past weeks, the whole team has been hard at work refining the molds for the monocoque. The focus has been on sanding the positive mold made of polyurethane plates, which serve as the basis for creating the negative mold which will be laminated on top of the positive mold. To ensure optimal quality, the positive mold must be completely flawless. The negative mold will then be used to laminate the monocoque itself. Through meticulous preparation and precise craftsmanship, we are ensuring a perfect fit and exceptional quality for the final product.

Sponsor Highlight

We would like to express our gratitude to Noctua for their support of our team. Their provision of thermal paste, fans, and CPU coolers has been invaluable in our efforts to optimize thermal management across our systems. From ensuring optimal heat transfer with their high-quality thermal paste to deploying their CPU coolers in our workstation PC as well as in our LiDAR system, Noctua’s products have been instrumental in enhancing our performance. With Noctua as our partner, we are better equipped to tackle challenges and bring our projects to life.

Have a wonderful celebration!

Wishing all of you and your families a wonderful month filled with celebrations and holidays. Your support and hard work have been invaluable to the team and we are incredibly grateful for everything you have contributed. As the new year approaches, we send our best wishes for a successful year ahead and look forward to updating you on our latest achievements in the January newsletter.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our sponsors, supporters and team members - without you, our racecar-journey would not be possible. Your continued dedication and support are the driving forces behind our success and we are excited for what lies ahead.
