 CURE Mannheim e.V. – 2025  News February

The new year is here and we’re thrilled to share the latest news and achievements from our team with you! Thanks to your continued support, we’ve hit the ground running and made fantastic progress on the racecar over the past months, including completing the laminating of the negative mold for the monocoque, advancing with a turning wheelset and diving deep into the quiz preparation.

Laminating the negative mold for the monocoque

With the completion of laminating the last negative mold in January, we have taken a significant step towards producing our first monocoque chassis. This milestone was achieved thanks to the hard work of our team members and the invaluable support of our partner, Faserschmiede GmbH, whose autoclave played a key role in the process. In the upcoming weeks, we will focus on preparing the negative mold to laminate our very first monocoque into.

Turning wheelset

Another key component of our new car is the all-wheel drive system featuring wheel hub motors. Over the past few weeks, all the necessary components arrived at our workshop, allowing us to assemble the wheel assemblies. Following this, we successfully spun the wheel hub and gearbox with the new motors for the very first time. According to our schedule, all the wheel assemblies are planned to be connected to the chassis by the time the next news comes around.

Quiz preparation

To participate in any Formula Student event, our team must pass the required quiz for each competition. No matter how innovative or powerful our car is, without passing the quizzes, we won’t be able to attend any events this year. That's why it’s crucial for the entire team to be well-prepared and motivated. Since November, we’ve been holding regular test quizzes to familiarize ourselves with the different setups. With growing numbers of teams worldwide, the competition for a spot at international events is fierce. The quizzes are taking place at the end of January and we’ll share our results in an upcoming news.

Starting the new year right

We’re thrilled to begin the year with renewed energy and new team members who have joined over the past few weeks and months. Stay tuned for the next news, where we’ll share exciting updates on both the progress of our car and our team. Thank you for your unwavering support and interest in CURE - this journey wouldn’t be possible without you!

With gratitude,

The CURE Mannheim e.V. Team
